ABOUT DEBRA

I am trained at a Masters level in Art Therapy, based in Jungian Archetypal Psychology.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, Licensed Professional Art Therapist in the state of New Mexico, with 20+ years of experience.

My formal education focused on a Jungian based Archetypal approach.  This approach takes into account all those things we all have in common, how we are connected, and what keeps us separate.  Our perceptions or beliefs keep us separate.  There are good parts and bad parts of every belief.  We need to recognize each and attend to them, honor them.  Sometimes we need help looking at those beliefs and answering choices.  Our answers are always within ourselves.  A therapist will help us by offering support to visit those place in ourselves that seem hard to visit alone.  We desire balance and beauty, and can probably find it more quickly and completely with a therapist’s help.  My education continues, as does my own therapy, because I enjoy the growing process of it.  It keeps me honest as a therapist and more nimble as a navigator.

Clients receive written clarification of Confidentiality and both of our commitments to the therapy/counseling.

I follow the Code of Ethics of my licensure.

Because of the complexities in therapy and counseling I work with English speaking clients only.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow-lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade wins in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.                            –
